On the third Tuesday of the month Ute Mountaineer will be bringing in speakers who will give a talk or present a slide show. Some of the speakers we will be bringing in have traveled the world, climbed the highest peaks and explored some of the most exotic places in the world.
Or, done something interesting right here in our own backyard of Colorado.

• May 19 - Sam Elias will present a multimedia tour of a rock climbing expedition to the country of Venezuela. For more information, click here. 
   

• June 16 - John Gill, boulderer/climber. Subject of numerous magazine articles and books, John Gill is the 'father' of modern bouldering. Come for a night not to be missed. For more information, click here.
   

• July 21 - "Uncertainty on Ama Dablam's Southwest Ridge" Join professional photographer, Ted Mahon, along with teammates Christy Sauer and Dirk Bockelmann, as they shares photos from their 2008 expedition to Ama Dablam. For more information, click here.
   

• August 18 - "The Dark Glow of the Mountains - Classic Movie Night at Ute Mountaineer. This is a TV documentary made in 1984 by German filmmaker Werner Herzog. It is about an expedition made by freestyle mountain climber Reinhold Messner and his partner Hans Kammerlander to climb Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II all in one trip without returning to base camp. The film is not so much concerned with showing the climb itself or giving guidelines on mountaineering, but seeks to reveal the inner motivation of the climbers. This will be a great film to watch in the intimate setting at Ute Mountaineer. Bring your friends and get comfortable while you watch this classic climbing film.
