Bryan and Julie (my brother and sister-in-law whom you've seen on all of my other trip reports) invited me on a weekend adventure to the Betty Bear Hut.  Bruce organized the trip through CHAOS (Colorado Hiking And Outdoor Society, an outdoor club based in Boulder) and fourteen of us were able to get away for a three day weekend.  I am typically wary of large groups due to some past experiences, but this turned out to be a wonderful and fun group of people.  We had fresh snow, delicious food, tequila, chocolate mousse, telepathic Pictionary, and a healthy supply of dirty jokes.

Julie and I were feeling lazy and less-than-motivated Saturday morning, and we were happy to mosey up the trail at the back of the group.  Gummy bears and jokes from Bruce, Dan, and Richard helped get us going.

After breakfast burritos Sunday morning, Coy, Peter, Mike, and I headed up toward Hagerman Pass to find some powder turns.

The weather went from high winds and heavy snow to clear skies and back to nasty winds throughout the day.

Bryan wasn't feeling well and opted to stay indoors on Sunday.  Between his Hawaiian shirt, Bruce's pig shorts, and a glass of tequila, he started to feel better Sunday night.

Here we are geared up for the return home and a funny (due to the many face plants) descent to the road.
