Aspen Mountain Film Festival is a celebration of diverse mountain cultures, highlighting Aspen’s unique philosophy of body, mind, and spirit through documentary film, music, art, food, and stage with shared experiences of travel, adventure, environment, sustainability, community and extraordinary storytelling, with the flagship festival taking place each August. New this year, a mid-winter two-day event focusing on adventure film.

Four top freeskiers and a World Champion drone pilot are dropped at Chatter Creek, BC for one week. Their instructions: charge as hard as you can every day.
The Mapmaker
You can’t take a photo of every boulder in Linville Gorge – but you can draw it. Or at least, Joey Henson can. Follow Joey and a community of rock climbers as they climb, document, and preserve the boulders around Boone, North Carolina.
Trails Alive
Anne Cleary was the first female director invited to participate in the Crankwirx Dirt Diaries contest in its 10-year history. The concept is based around personifying some of the best trails between Bellingham, Washington and Whistler, BC. The film features six incredible women: Vero Sandler, Hannah Bergemann, Britney White, Micayla Gatto, Casey Brown, and Vaea Verbeeck.
Electric Greg
Record-breaking mountain endurance athlete, Greg Hill, has never shied away from a goal. Through his time spent in the mountains he’s seen the effects of climate change first-hand and came to realize the way he was approaching the mountains was only making the problem worse. Two years ago, he changed his approach and set out to climb 100 peaks without burning any fossil fuels. But the question is: will it make a difference?
River Surfer (Colorado Premiere)
The film is a glimpse into the unique sport of river surfing through the mind of Gannet Horn. Gannet was a long-time ocean surfer before discovering he could surf the river in his own backyard. From this point onward he became obsessed. Gannet’s passion for place and commitment to the community is what inspired this project.
Bump Brothers (Colorado Premiere)
Clair and Darrell Glenn have been skiing Beaver Mountain in Northern Utah for 50 years. The two brothers are known for trenching in the “Glen Canyon” under Harry’s Dream lift, where they display their prowess in Moguls and in the air. The fountain of youth is apparently located in Logan Canyon, UT.
Constant Thought
“Constant Thought presents Brandon’s admirable journey to minimize PTSD’s effects on his daily life and for his family… Spruce Tone Films orchestrates a solid documentary experience.” … Constant Thought is an intimate portrayal of Brandon and his attempt to walk the 2,650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail.
Fire on the Mountain
Just as the Grateful Dead did not ?t their music into an established category, this short ?lm ?nds a cast of some of the world’s best athletes on a spontaneous journey of skiing, snowboarding, surfing, and music, complete with a soundtrack comprised of only Grateful Dead music. Narrated by Hall of Fame basketball player and television sportscaster Bill Walton with music supervision by David Lemieux, audiovisual archivist and legacy manager for the Grateful Dead, Fire On The Mountain features some of action sports’ most legendary athletes: snowboarding’s Jeremy Jones, Danny Davis, Kimmy Fasani, surfing icon Rob Machado, and skiers Michelle Parker and Chris Benchetler. Captured over the course of the winter by cinematographer Tyler Hamlet with the help of Sweetgrass Productions, the visual journey features never seen before visual effects within nature and original artwork by Benchetler and Skye Walker.
