Please Note: This is essentially a backcountry race so please prepare for it accordingly with the proper clothing, food and hydrationevent requires you to be self-supported. There will be a porta potty at the start but not on the course. If you do not feel comfortable with this type of race, you should consider not participating.
The 6th of seven events in The Ute Cup Nordic Series-Sponsored by The Ute Mountaineer and Independence Pass Foundation.
This 7K Classic race is a family favorite and a benefit event for The Independence Pass Foundation. Beginning at the Hwy 82 winter closure gate on Independence Pass and finishing at the turnoff to Lincoln Creek Road. 10am start.
Registration
Online Registration: is available from 6pm 1/10/23 through 3pm 2/2/24. There is no in-person registration or registration available after 3pm 2/2/24.
Participation Cap: Race is capped at 90 participants per USFS permit.

Cost: $15/adults and $7.50/under 18
Bib Pickup: Bibs will be available for pick up at the Ute Mountaineer from 10am-5pm on Saturday, February 3rd and at the race start from 9-9:45am.
Start: Mass start at 10am.
Course: the 7K course starts at the winter closure gate and finishes at Lincoln Creek. For most of the race there will be two classic tracks set (reducing to one at narrow sections of the road).
Aid Stations: Aid Station with fluids will be at the Weller Trailhead parking. As this is a backcountry race, please prepare to self support yourself on this event.
Gear Shuttle: There will be a gear shuttle to the finish line. This is essentially a backcountry ski race so please prepare for it accordingly.
Sweep: A race sweep will be provided
Results: Results will be posted online on this page by noon February 5th.
