Ski for the Pass

Registration for 2024 Ski For The Pass will open in Early January

10am - February 4th, 2024 Sunday
$20/individuals, $7.50/under 18 years old (registration begins 1/10 6pm)
Race Participation is capped at 80 particpants per the USFS permit.

Ski For the Pass is a 7K classic race/tour from the winter closure gate east of Aspen on Highway 82 to the turnoff for Lincoln Creek Rd. It is the only day of the year that this closed section of Highway 82 is groomed for classic cross country skiing. Race is part of Ute Cup Nordic Series. Race is a benefit for Independence Pass Foundation.

A warming area at the finish and gear shuttle will be provided for participants. There will be an aid station at the Weller Lake trailhead parking area. The race will be timed. For course map, click here.

Unfortunately, bikes are not permitted for this tour. Per the Travel Management Plan currently in place, fat bikes (because they have “wheels”) are technically NOT allowed on Indy Pass during winter.
